Townsound ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII), such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. The App does not require user registration and does not track or monitor user activity across other apps or services.

2. Information We May Collect

While using the App, we may collect limited, non-personally identifiable information to improve user experience:

  • City Selection or Location Input: You may manually select a city to explore touring artists. We do not use or store GPS location unless explicitly requested by you.
  • Anonymous Usage Data: We may collect aggregated and anonymized data (e.g., feature usage, error logs) for the purpose of debugging and improving the app.

3. Use of Apple Music

The App integrates with Apple Music via MusicKit to stream music. To function properly:

  • The App requests permission to access your Apple Music subscription, library, or playback capabilities using Apple's APIs.
  • All interactions with Apple Music are governed by Apple's own terms of service and privacy policy.
  • We do not access or store your Apple Music credentials, playback history, or personal listening data.

4. Third-Party Services

We may use trusted third-party services for functionality such as:

  • Supabase (Database and Hosting): Stores anonymized event data such as artist names, venues, and dates.
  • Apple MusicKit: Handles music streaming.

These services operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

5. Data Retention

We do not retain personal data. Any anonymized usage metrics or diagnostic logs collected (if enabled) are stored only as long as needed for performance monitoring and app improvements.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect any data transmitted via the App. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have legal rights under privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), such as:

  • The right to know what data is collected.
  • The right to access or delete any personal information (if any were collected, which it is not).
  • The right to opt out of data sharing.

Since we do not collect personal data, these rights are generally not applicable. However, you may contact us at any time with questions.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on our website. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
